Tottenham took the controversial first leg lead over Chelsea

| Referee Michael Oliver gave a controversial penalty for Tottenham |
Harry Kane scored the lone goal through a controversial penalty after VAR's intervention to give Tottenham a first leg lead in the Carabao Cup semi-final.
Kane was tagged offside by the lineman prior to the penalty incident, only for referee Michael Oliver to check the VAR and award Spurs the penalty. While watching the incident from one angle showed Kane was onside, watching from another angle proved him offside but Tottenham got away with it on the night. It was a wonderful display from Chelsea, but it clearly did not yield the required result and they now wait until the second leg to make things right at Stamford bridge.
Kane has scored in each of his last six games for Tottenham in all competitions and he has now scored 160 goals for the club, the fourth highest goalscorer in the club's history.
Mauricio Pochettino managed his 250th game for Tottenham last night and he has won 143, drawn 53 and lost 54.
Eden Hazard won seven of Chelsea's 10 free kicks last night meaning he was fouled seven times, the most fouls he has won in a single match this season.
