Manchester City survive scare to defeat Watford

Manchester City continued their Premier League unbeaten run thanks to a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Watford.
Abdoulaye Doucoure's late goal was not enough to cancel out Leroy Sane and Riyad Mahrez's strike as Manchester City survived a scare in the final minutes of the game. City move to 41 points, five points ahead of Liverpool who play today. These are the type of games that make a team champion, games they need to dig in to get a hard-fought victory, those are the three points that matter and Manchester City have achieved that in their last two games- against Bournemouth and now against Watford.
Since 1892/93 season, Manchester City's goal difference of +38 is the best in English top football after 15 games into the season.
Manchester City have won all their last nine games against Watford in all competitions and have scored at least twice in each game.
This is the first time since December 2017 that Watford would lose three Premier League matches in a row.
Leroy Sane has now scored as many as five goals in his last five starts in the Premier League.
