Starting from the "FIFA BEST AWARD"....
It's no longer news that Croatia and Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric claimed the best men's player award at the award ceremony last night beating Mohamed Salah and the absent Cristiano Ronaldo to the award. This is the first time since 10 years that either of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi will not win this award, what a wonderful way to break that spell!!!
Mohamed Salah claimed the Puskas award for his wonderful strike against Everton in the Merseyside derby last season. Questions have been asked and many football fans have disagreed with the choice with many believing Cristiano Ronaldo's goal against Juventus and Gareth Goal against Liverpool should have won it. It actually felt like a compensation to Salah having missed out as the best player as well as in the FIFPro.
Real Madrid and Belgium goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois claimed the best goalkeeper of the year.
France boss Didier Deschamp claimed the best manager of the year.
The living female football legend Marta claimed the best women player of the year, she has now won it for the sixth time.
The best fans award was won by Peru fans.
The best FIFA women coach of the year was claimed by Reynald Pedros.
VVV Venlo striker Lennart Thy won the FIFA fairplay award after donating blood to a person suffering from leukemia instead of going to his side's match against PSV, he was awarded the man of the match for that day.

| FIFpro World XI |
For the FIFPro world XI, Dani Alves' inclusion has caused commotion among many fans with the Brazilian star playing only 23 matches throughout last season and also missing out on World Cup due to injury. Another anomaly is the exclusion of Thibaut Courtois who claimed the best goalkeeper of the year. The last one of such is also the exclusion of Mohamed Salah who made the top three for the best men's player award but could not make the FIFpro.
