    Manchester City win the FA Cup; Bayern Munich triumph to win Bundesliga

    Manchester City win 2018-19 FA Cup

    Manchester City thrash Watford 6-0 to win the FA Cup and secure a domestic treble, the first of it kind in English men's football.


    Having won the Carabao Cup and the Premier League title, Pep Guardiola's side had the opportunity to achieve history by winning the first domestic treble in English men's football which they did just in style.

    Raheem Sterling bagged a hat-trick while David Silva, Kevin De Bruyne and Gabriel Jesus also got on the score sheet. It was a night to forget for Watford who were very poor from start to finish.

    Manchester City are now the first team in English top football to register 50 wins in all competitions in one season.
    After Arsenal in 1992-93, Liverpool in 2000-01 and Chelsea in 2006-07, City are the fourth side to win both domestic cup competitions in a same season.
    Since over 100 years ago, Manchester City are the first side to win an FA Cup final with six goals margin.
    They also scored 26 goals in the FA Cup this season, the most by any team since 1945/46.

    Bayern Munich pipped Borussia Dortmund to the Bundesliga title thanks to a 5-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt. Kingsley Coman, David Alaba, Renato Sanches, Frank Ribery and Arjen Robben all got on the score sheet.

    Bayern finished 78 points while Dortmund finished 76 points even with their 2-0 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach on the last day of the season.

    The Bavarians have now won their seventh straight Bundesliga title and a have won the trophy in a total of 29 times. They will have a chance for the domestic double when they face RB Leipzig in the German Cup final next weekend.
