Liverpool stun Barcelona with 4-0 win

Liverpool stunned Barcelona to proceed into the Champions League final in successive seasons after thrashing the La Liga giant 4-0 thanks to braces from Divock Origi and Georginio Wijnaldum. 


Origi opened the scores early in the first-half before Wijnaldum scored his double in the second-half and Origi added the winning goal later in the game. The fixture ended 4-3 aggregate in favour of Liverpool after Barcelona already led 3-0 in the first leg at Nou Camp last week.

It's a great achievement for Liverpool and they've put in a massive shift to have a claim on this one. Barcelona were a little bit lacklustre and it really wasn't meant to be their day as most of their players switched off in vital situations.

Liverpool will now face either of Tottenham and Ajax in the Champions League final in Madrid on June 1.
Liverpool have now reached nine European/Champions League finals. Only Real Madrid, Milan and Bayern Munich have reached more with 16, 11 and 10 respectively.
Liverpool are the first English team to reach consecutive Champions League final since Manchester United in 2008 and 2009.
Barcelona have been eliminated in three of their last four Champions League semi-final fixtures.
This was Barcelona's highest defeat against an English side in European competitions.
Trent Alexander-Arnold has now provided 14 assists in all competitions this campaign, more than any of his club's teammates.
