Ajax stunned Tottenham away from home as they got the required away goal and went on to defeat Mauricio Pochettino's side by 1-0 thanks to an early goal from Donny van de Beek.
Ajax did it in Madrid, in Turin and now they've done it in London. Tottenham were lacklustre with little chances in a big Champions League game of this standard and if they want to take anything away from the second leg, they have to improve when they visit Amsterdam.
This is the third time an English side will lost to a Dutch side in the last 30 home matches and Spurs are responsible for two of those three defeats.
This is the first time in Ajax history that they would score in nine consecutive Champions League away games.
This is the first time Tottenham would fail to score in a Champions League match since November 2016 against Bayer Leverkusen.
Ajax have scored a total of 161 goals in all competitions this campaign
Dusan Tadic has now created 32 chances in the Champions League this season, more than any other player.
