Chelsea thrash Arsenal to lift the Europa League

Chelsea thrashed Arsenal 4-1 to lift the Europa League trophy in Baku thanks to an outstanding performance with one goal each from Olivier Giroud, Pedro and a brace from Eden Hazard. Alex Iwobi's stunner however was not enough for the lacklustre Arsenal side to prove any point.


Eden Hazard starred, winning the man-of-the-match after scoring twice and providing one assist in what would be his last game for the club. Former Arsenal star Olivier Giroud also did excellently well, getting involved in almost all the goals and coming back to hunt the Gunners who sold him about 18 months ago.

At the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Poland, Senegal and Colombia have qualified from group A after finishing the group in first and 2nd positions with seven and six points respectively.

In group B, Italy and Japan have now moved into the next round after claiming first and 2nd with seven and five points respectively. The other teams will have to wait on best loser to decide if they would be among the four teams to join the authentic 12 in the round-of-16.
