| Heung-min Son scored a brace for Tottenham |
Tottenham proceed into the Semi-final of the Champions League for the first time in their history following a seven-goal thriller display against Manchester City. Manchester City won 4-3 on the night but the Spurs qualified into the next round on 4-4 aggregate as VAR saved the day.
Manchester City scored first through Raheem Sterling in the early minutes of the match to give City the 1-0 lead but Heung-min Son scored twice in quick succession to make it 1-2. Just moments later, City equalised 2-2 through Bernardo Silva with all four goals coming in the first 10 mins of the game. City later led 3-2 as Sterling scored his second just inside the first 20 mins.
In the second half, City added another through Sergio Aguero to make it 4-2 but Fernando Llorente played his part to reduce the deficit to 4-3. It looked like Tottenham would be going on to qualify without stress but in the dying minutes, Raheem Sterling scored his third of the game only for VAR to save the day for the Spurs after detecting an offside in the build-up to that goal.
