    Manchester City go top; Tottenham move to third; Chelsea take fifth position

    Manchester City go top of the table after beating Cardiff 2-0 with goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Leroy Sane. City move to 80 points, first on the table and one point above second Liverpool. Cardiff meanwhile have 28 points and are 18th on the table.


    City have now won 23 of 25 home games in all competitions this season, losing only two matches. They have won 16 of 17 Premier League home games with only one loss this season.
    Cardiff are the only club in the history of the Premier League who are yet to win any midweek (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) match.

    Tottenham opened their new £1bn stadium by beating Crystal Palace 2-0. ChChristiani Eriksen and Heung-min Son both scored for the Spurs as they move back to third position with 64 points, just one point above fourth and fifth placed Arsenal and Chelsea. The battle for top four will be a fierce one, thus every team will have to fight for their lives.

    Tottenham have now won their last eight Premier League games against Crystal Palace.
    Son has now scored 12 goals in the Premier League this season, only in 2016/17 where he had 14 did he score more in a single season.
    Eriksen has now provided 59 assists in his 200 Premier League appearances.

    Chelsea thrash Brighton with a 3-0 victory to move to 63 points on fifth position, just one point off third. Eden Hazard, Olivier Giroud and Ruben Loftus-Cheek all got on the score sheet as Chelsea get ready for the top-four battle.

    Chelsea have now won all of their eight Premier League games against Brighton.
    Brighton have now lost all of their 10 away Premier League games against the big six sides scoring just two goals.
    Callum Hudson-Odoi is the youngest Chelsea player to provide an assist on his first Premier League start for the club. He's just 18 years and 146 days.
    Olivier Giroud has now scored six goals and assisted another two in his last five starts for Chelsea in all competitions.
    Eden Hazard has had a hand in 16 of Chelsea's 32 goals at home in the Premier League.
    Ruben Loftus-Cheek scored and assisted in a single game for the first time ever in all competitions.
