    Liverpool defeat Southampton to go top of the table

    Liverpool move back to the top of the Premier League table after coming from a goal down to defeat Southampton by 3-1 at the St Mary's stadium. Shane Long scored first for Southampton early in the first half but Naby Keita equalised before the break to put the score at 1-1.
    Mohamed Salah however stole the show as his lobed second half finish took the Reds ahead before Jordan Henderson made it 3-1 in dying minutes.

    Having played one more game, Liverpool now have 82 points in the Premier League, two more than Manchester City who are second. Southampton however are 16th on the table with 33 points.

    Southampton have played Six Premier League matches on Friday and have only managed to win one of those matches.
    Southampton have also lost 23 points from winning positions this season in the Premier League, more than any other side.
    Liverpool have now won seven of their last eight Premier League matches in which they conceded the first goal.
    Liverpool have won 16 points from losing positions in the Premier League this season, more than any other side.
    Liverpool join the likes of Arsenal, Aston Villa, Everton, Manchester City, Newcastle and Sunderland as the seventh club to have conceded 5000 goals in English football top-flight history.
