Barcelona beat Manchester United by a lone goal

Toothless Manchester United fell to a Champions League quarter final first-leg defeat in the hands of Barcelona thanks to a 1-0 loss following an own goal by Luke Shaw which came off him from Luis Suarez's header.
Manchester United put in a good shift but they lacked the the finishing touches to hurt the Camp Nou side. Barcelona now have the advantage to qualify for the Semi-final when they meet in the second leg which will come up in Spain next week.

Barcelona has now beaten Manchester United for the fourth time in the Champions League and each one is at a different stadium.
This is the first time since March 2005 against AC Milan that Manchester United will fail to mount a single shot on target in a Champions League match.
Barcelona have now won five of their last seven away Champions League games against the English sides.
Manchester United have now netted eight own goals in the Champions League, more than any other side in the history of the competition.

    David Neres scored for Ajax

David Neres scored a brilliant early second half equalising goal to cancel out Cristiano Ronaldo's first half header as the match ended in a 1-1 draw. Despite the wonderful display from Ajax for the night, Juventus are now in better position to secure a Semi-final place having scored an own goal but history must not forget what they did to Real Madrid in the second leg of the round-of-16  at the Santiago Bernabeu last month. The thought of Ajax still having a real chance of qualification makes it more interesting.
