    Ajax stunned Real Madrid with a 4-1 win at the Santiago Bernabeu to qualify for the next round on a 5-3 aggregate victory.
    Marco Asensio struck but Madrid who later reduced to 10 men late in the game after Nacho saw red had their European dominance for the past three years stopped on the night. It's been a very bad season for Santiago Solari's side following the departure of previous boss Zinedine Zidane and top key player Cristiano Ronaldo, it has clearly shown how they've struggled all season and within a space of a week, they are dumped out of the Copa del Rey, Champions League and out of the La Liga title race.

    Real Madrid are the first Champions League winners to fail to reach the quarter finals since Chelsea in 2012/13 who failed to go pass the group stage.
    This is the first time in 22 years that Ajax would progress through a knockout stage of the Champions League.
    Dusan Tadic has scored six goals and assisted another three, becoming the player with the highest direct involvement in goals in the Champions League this season.

    Tottenham progressed into the quarter final of the Champions League for the first time under Mauricio Pochettino as Harry Kane become Tottenham's highest goal scorer in Europe with his lone goal to win 1-0 for the Spurs at Borussia Dortmund. The encounter ended in 4-0 triumph over the two legs and they will look to make another progress from there with their next Champions League fixture likely to come at their own home ground as confirmed by Pochettino.

    Tottenham have defeated Borussia Dortmund in all of their four meetings in the Champions League.
    Tottenham have scored 12 of their 13 goals in the Champions League this season in the second half of the games.
