| Kylian Mbappe scores at Old Trafford |
For the first time since taking over at Manchester United as the club's caretaker boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer registered his first defeat after 12 games in charge as Paris Saint-Germain comfortably beat 10-man United at Old Trafford.
The match ended in a 2-0 victory for Thomas Tuchel's side with Persnel Kimpembe and Kylian Mbappe getting on the score sheet both from a former United flop Angel Di Maria assists. Paul Pogba was red-carded late on in the match and will definitely miss the return leg in France, leaving a high mountain for United to climb in the second leg in three weeks time and the Red Devils may also be without Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard who were both subbed off due to injury on the night. It wasn't a bad return for Di Maria who made his statement with two assists, the third time he would have a brace assist in a Champions League game and the first time since September 2013 for Real Madrid against Galatasaray.
PSG are now the first French club to defeat Manchester United at home in any European competition.
Kylian Mbappe has now scored seven goals in Champions League knockout stages since the start of 2016/17 season, only Cristiano Ronaldo has more with 16 goals.
Gianluigi Buffon is the fourth player to play in the Champions League after the age of 41 and he made his debut in the competition before either of Marcus Rashford or Kylian Mbappe was born.
