Chelsea secured a place in the final of the Carabao Cup with a 4-2 penalty win over Tottenham at Stamford bridge yesterday after the match ended 2-2 on aggregate.
Chelsea scored two first half goals through N'Golo Kante and Eden Hazard but Fernando Llorente reduced the deficit in the second half to stretch the match to penalty as it ended 2-1 as a normal match but 2-2 on aggregate after Tottenham won the first leg 1-0 at Wembley. It was going to be Chelsea's night as David Luiz scored the decisive penalty to win 4-2 for Maurizio Sarri's side. They will now face Manchester City in the final.
Chelsea have now reached their eight league cup finals and Mauricio Sarri is the sixth boss to take them into a league cup final but just the fourth to do it in his first season.
Chelsea has lost none of their 46 home matches in which Eden Hazard has scored, winning 39 and drawing seven.
Kante has scored four goals in all competitions this season, he made his 30th appearances last night. The four goals is as many goals as he had in his previous three seasons in England where he had four goals in 129 matches.
Fernando Llorente has in his last five starts for Tottenham in all competitions scored eight goals.
