Manchester City got back to winning ways to go top of the Premier League table. The Etihad side defeated Everton 3-1 at home thanks to a brace from Gabriel Jesus and another goal from Raheem Sterling who came off the bench. City move to 44 points top of the table at least until the outcome of Liverpool's match against Manchester United today.
Manchester City have won all 21 of their matches in which they have scored in the first half in all competitions this season. The only five matches they have failed to win this season are those they didn't score in the first half.
This is Manchester City's 10th win in their last 10 Premier League home matches with 36 goals scored and seven goals conceded.
Everton have only won one of their last nine Premier League away matches.
Gabriel Jesus ended a run of 11 games without a goal for City.
Leroy Sane provided two assists for Gabriel Jesus, the German had never assisted Jesus before today.
Tottenham left it late to secure all three points thanks to a stoppage time winner from Christian Eriksen to give the Spurs a 1-0 win over resilient Burnley. Tottenham remain third with 39 points.
Tottenham have failed to draw any of their last 21 Premier League games, they've won 16 and drawn five. Tottenham have failed to draw any of their 17 Premier League games this season, only Bolton had a longer run of 18 games without a draw in single campaign.
Burnley failed to have any shot on target in this match, the third time they will do that this season.
Juventus maintained their Serie A unbeaten run thanks to a 1-0 win over Torino in the Turin derby. Cristiano Ronaldo's penalty was enough for Juventus to claim all three points and move to 46 points on the table.
Real Madrid moved within two points off the top of LaLiga table thanks to a lone goal from Karim Benzema to secure a 1-0 win over Rayo Vallecano.
