    Chelsea players celebrate Emerson's goal

Eden Hazard's late brilliant strike sees Liverpool crash out of the Carabao Cup and Chelsea proceeded to the next round.
Liverpool scored first through Daniel Sturridge but Chelsea left it late with 11 minutes from time before coming to live through an Emerson's equalizer before Eden Hazard showed his brilliance to win the match for Maurizio Sarri. Liverpool have however lost for the first time this season as unbeaten run in all competitions comes to an end.
Liverpool have now been eliminated from the League Cup at this stage of the competition in successive seasons for the first time since 28-29 years ago.
Hazard has scored six goals in the League Cup and three of them have been as a substitute.
Sturridge has now scored 11 times in his last 11 League Cup games.

Arsenal started their Carabao Cup campaign with a win thanks to a brace from Danny Welbeck and a wonderful strike from Alexandre Lacazette to secure a 3-1 for Unai Emery against Brentford.
Danny Welbeck is now the first Premier League player to score in as many as three different competitions this season with four goals in total of six appearances in the Europa League, League Cup and Europa League.

Tottenham fought through the hard way to secure a 4-2 penalty shootout win over Watford following a 2-2 draw after full time.

In La Liga, Barcelona and Real Madrid were both beaten by Leganes and Sevilla respectively. Barcelona lost 2-1 to Leganes while Real Madrid lost 3-0 to Sevilla both away from home.
